Detailed Information

Bay Bank has a long and proud history of standing for its customers’ future. Founded in 1995 by the Oneida Nation and a group of five local businessmen, the original mission of Bay Bank was to provide the Greater Green Bay area with a locally controlled financial institution that would be free from mergers and consolidations that had become common with larger financial institutions in the region.

In 2000, the Oneida Nation became the sole owner of Bay Bank, which had already grown to $65 million in assets. The operations, policies—and locally focused mission— of the bank remained similar to the mission before the purchase by the Oneida Nation, but were enhanced as Bay Bank provided more federally funded programs to directly assist tribal members. In addition, Bay Bank and the Oneida Nation developed unique mortgage and entrepreneurial programs to assist Oneidas in obtaining housing and starting business ventures.

Today, Bay Bank has assets over $100 million and a dedicated team of 28 employees with two convenient locations for customers in the Greater Green Bay area.

With a longstanding commitment of exceeding customer expectations with exceptional customer service, Bay Bank is a major force in the Northeastern Wisconsin financial landscape. The bank provides key lending services such as mortgage, consumer and commercial loans. Bay Bank team members stand for you, the customer—delivering sound financial advice while assisting customers with the personal respect they deserve.

Bay Bank is the only Greater Green Bay bank to offer the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 184 Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program. This loan program offers any enrolled Native American who is part of a federally recognized tribe an opportunity to own a home with a low down payment and flexible underwriting. Section 184 loans can be used on and off trust land for new construction, purchase of an existing home, home improvements, and refinancing. Bay Bank has facilitated over $80 million in Section 184 loans since 2005.

The bank also administers the Oneida Small Business Project 2000. Bay Bank has delivered over $5 million in investments to over 100 Oneida small business owners. The bank supports applicants in the unique program to help ensure their success.
