The ICWA Law Center provides legal services and advocacy to Indian families impacted by the child protection system.
The ICWA Law Center, a 501(c)3, non-profit legal services organization, is dedicated to providing legal services to individuals involved in matters governed by the ICWA, and to educate and train others on the importance and intent of the ICWA.
Our Mission: Strengthen, preserve and reunite Indian families, consistent with the mandates and spirit of the Indian Child Welfare Act.
Our Values: Justice, Engagement, Collaboration, and Understanding.
Our Goals
- To provide the highest quality of legal services for Indian families
- To preserve and reunite Indian families who are impacted by the child protection system
- To collaborate with Indian families and tribes to secure safe and loving homes for their children when out of home placement is necessary
- To advocate for the best interests of Indian children and their right to maintain family and tribal connections
- To end the disparities in the number of out of home placements of Indian children
