Detailed Information

Freshness and quality should always come first. Therefore, we use only 100% Arabica coffee beans and roast every batch to order. We believe that it is our responsibility to operate in a way that minimizes our impact on Mother Earth. We use Biotre biodegradable coffee bags made of renewable material for our packaging.

We are a community oriented company. Our community includes not only the pipa, people of the Quechan Nation, it includes the entire coffee supply chain from seed to cup. We do our part by engaging in direct and fair trade with indigenous coffee farmers whenever possible. Throughout the world, coffee is an important part of what sustains communities.  We support these communities by working with suppliers that align with our values. We select coffees which are produced sustainably (organic), exchanged fairly (fair trade), handled correctly (roasted with care), and (we hope) enjoyed thoroughly.

Our name and logo are proud representations of our culture and identity. Spirit Mountain or Avi Kwame, is an area associated with the creation of life. The “shield” depicts the Avi Kwame mountain range and is overlaid by an image of a Yuman warrior. Avi Kwame is the start of the journey we now travel.  The warrior represents the spirit of the Pipa (people) that is always present during our journeys and experiences.
